Mumbai to host Women's International Film Festival at year-end

The International Women's film festival, slated to be held from December 6 to 13 in Mumbai, is calling for entries. The second edition of the festival, organized by Oculus Creations, brings in an opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their talents on an international platform.

The festival will have both competitive and non-competitive sections with a total of 7 categories. The competitive section includes short films, documentaries, public service announcement (PSA) and feature film. The non-competitive section includes world cinebusters, Indian panorama and world premiere. "The films made after January 1, 2012, are eligible for entry," said the spokesperson of the festival.

The eligibility criterion for short film and documentary categories is to have at least a woman at the forefront departments of film-making i.e. producing or direction or editing or cinematography or screenplay or writing.

Feature films, world cinebusters, world panorama and world premiere categories will accept films made by woman directors or producers only.

The first deadline for the submission of films is July 31. More details can be obtained from www.mwiff.com.
