Mumbai: Three held in separate cases of molestation

The Mumbai police arrested three men in separate cases for allegedly molesting and harassing women at Cuffe Parade and Colaba on Friday.

In the first case, a 29-year-old woman was allegedly stalked and harassed by a 32-year-old man whom she met on a matrimonial site. The Colaba police have arrested the accused after the woman approached them. When she told him she was not interested in marrying him, the accused kept forcing her to get married and began harassing her over the phone.

In another incident in Colaba, the police arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly harassing and molesting a 22-year-old woman. The police said the accused had obtained the girl's mobile number and was harassing her over the phone. After warning him, the girl blocked his number, however, the man then went to her office and created a scene, abused her and touched her.

In Cuffe parade, the police arrested a 52-year-old man for allegedly flashing and groping a 30-year-old woman on Friday in Cuffe Parade. According to the police, the accused and victim live in the same area and the accused have some sort of fight with the victim's husband and the husband had lodged the complaint against the accused in Cuffe Parade police station. "As the accused learned that the husband has lodged the complaint against him, he went to his home and called them out. As the husband was not in a home, the victim came out and asked what is the matter when the accused hugged her and groped her. The locals mainly women then rushed to help the victim and rescued the woman when the accused flashed in front of them repeatedly," said a police officer.
