Train services on the Central and Harbour lines were badly affected on Wednesday as a pantograph on a train was broken shortly after it left Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST).
The pantograph of an Asangaon-bound slow local train broke while the train was moving between CST and Masjid Bunder stations at 5:41 pm on Wednesday. Central Railway spokespersons said, the slow corridors on main line and harbour line have come to a virtual halt. "The problem was rectified at around 6:45 pm and train frequency is coming back to normal," the spokesperson said.
Many passengers were stranded as a result. Trains are running late on both lines. Further details awaited.
