While students of Bhayander-based RBK Global School brought Christmas cheer to kids of fire-hit Damu Nagar slum in Kandivali, HR College students plaued Santa to residents of various city orphanages on Wednesday.

Around 20 RBK students visited Damu Nagar. Gaurang Singhania, a Class VI student, said, "I gifted a compass box, pencil and pen to a child. I visited a slum area for the first time. I was very happy to give gifts to the children. We also played with them."

Echoing his sentiment, Class VII student Yatin Lakkaraju said, "I would like to do it again and again. We gave things such as soap, toothpaste and shampoo to the children living there. I was very happy to see the happiness on their faces. We also circled around a tree and sang carols."

Meanwhile, the Rotaract Club of HR College organised Jingle all the way – a Christmas celebration – for the under-privileged and juvenile children. The celebration will go on till Thursday.

Lokesh Sambhwani, a student of HR College, said, "On the first day on December 23, we went 25 different institutions and gifted them items of necessity. On the second day, we will be meeting kids in the juvenile prison of Matunga and spending time with them. We will also organise a surprise party at Seva Sadan for the under-privileged children. We will then go in and around Grant Road on cycles, donating blankets to the needy."
