Mumbai students ‘feel alive’ with Sony BBC Earth

Sony BBC Earth, India’s premium factual entertainment channel, after the success of its first edition, conducted Phase 2 of the ‘Feel Alive Hours’.

The ‘Feel Alive Hours’ is a differentiated experiential marketing activity that saw the participation of over 75 schools in the city and helped them reconnect with nature. 

DNA partnered with Sony BBC Earth School Connect programme with the Junior Editor Contest for Mumbai. It gave the students a chance to be a Wildlife Editor and create a newspaper page based on the student’s observations, with a DNA feature and exciting prizes for the winners.

Father Malcolm, Vice Principal, St. Stanislaus High School, said, “I liked that the session was about our environment and animals that are getting extinct. It helps in creating awareness, especially among children. Children enjoyed the session. It is great to instil a value system in children and teach them to care for nature’s creation. They need to know that there’s a world beyond us and it is important to take care of it.”

The idea was born from a BBC Research on how students who coexist with nature, are happier. The ‘Feel Alive Hours’ with interactive, positive and insightful stories aim to make students connect to the environment around them. Sony BBC Earth is home to BBC’s award-winning factual programs and work of some of the world’s foremost factual film makers. Rooted in the philosophy of ‘Feel Alive’, the channel promises grand visual spectacle, positive insightful storytelling and a new perspective to knowledge and entertainment.
