Mumbai runs today, watch out for traffic diversions

As thousands of running enthusiasts hit the streets on Sunday morning to be a part of the Tata Mumbai Marathon, motorists and public bus users between SoBo and Bandra will face traffic restrictions on important roads.

The traffic department have made diversions to give unhindered access of roads to those participating in the marathon, half-marathons and other running events. The BEST that runs buses won't run its services on 11 routes between 6 am and 1 pm.

The cops have restricted vehicular movement on roads between Mahapalika Marg at CST and Bandra Reclamation for seven hours starting 6 am.

Parking of vehicles will be prohibited on both sides at LT Marg, Shahid Bhagat Singh Road, Mahapalika Marg, DN road, D Tata Road, Babulnath Road, PD'Mello road, Madam Cama Road, Pedder Road, Dr. Annie Besant Road, E.Moses Road between 5 am and 2 pm, said the traffic department. Similarly no vehicles will be allowed be parked on either sides of Gokhale Road, Ranade Road, Senapati Bapat Road in Dadar and at Bandra Reclamation Road during same period.

The traffic cops shut vehicular traffic on 52 roads. The department has suggested alternate roads to reach hospitals. Emergency vehicles will also be kept on standby. Police information kiosks have been set up at CST, Hutatma Chowk, Sunder Mahal Junction, Air India Junction, Mumbai Central Railway Junction, Worli Naka Junction, Airport Junction, Siddhivinayak Junction, Shivaji Park Junction and Mahim Junction.
