The waterlogging following the first rain of the season on Saturday caused the city to crawl with traffic diversions in several areas and delayed Central Railways' suburban trains by nearly 15 minutes. Air traffic in the city, too, was delayed by 15 to 30 minutes.

Low-lying areas like Hindmata, Kings Circle, Sion and Matunga and several western and western suburbs suffered significant traffic snarls. The Central Railway (CR) said no waterlogging was reported on tracks at Sion, Kurla and Sandhurst Road stations and all services were functional. Sunil Udasi, spokesperson, CR, said, "There was delay of around 5 to 15 minutes on CR mainline, Harbour line and TransHarbour line."

A wall collapsed between Ghatkopar and Vikhroli early on Saturday morning between 4 am to 6 am on the down line. "Services were not affected due to this except for a few delays as we were clearing debris," Udasi added.

"There was a minimal delay of 4-5 minutes. Waterlogging was reported on Harbour line tracks of Bandra and Mahim," said Ravindra Bhakar, spokesperson, WR.

At least 2 flights were diverted on Saturday, and several flights delayed by 15 to 30 minutes. However, none of the flights were cancelled.

While Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Metro-1 corridor was running unaffected, the BEST had to divert around 70 buses.
