Mumbai: Wife of police inspector probing Sheena Bora case found murdered, son missing

A police inspector's wife was found murdered at her Vakola residence on Tuesday. The inspector is with the Khar police station and was also part of the team that was initially probing the sensational Sheena Bora murder case. 

According to Vakola police, on Tuesday night, when complainant Dnyaneshwar Kanore (42) went home to his Prabhat Colony residence in Santacruz (E), he found that the door was locked. 

"Kanore called his wife Deepali, but her phone remained switched off. Kanore then opened the door and found Deepali lying in a pool of blood. He immediately called the police control room and informed them about the murder," said a police officer privy to the case. 

Vakola police have registered a case of murder against an unknown person and are making inquiries with the family.

According to a reports, the Police PRO confirmed that the son of the duo is still missing after the incident and his mobile phone is also switched off.

A knife, which is being purported as the weapon used during the murder, was also found from the spot.

Police suspect that the killer may be someone known to the family.
