Mumbai: Online admissions for FYJC to end on April 24

The registration of First Year Junior College (FYJC) online admission process for city junior colleges started on Tuesday. The registration will end on April 24 for junior colleges after which students will be able to fill their details. This year the students may also expect fee hike in junior college unaided sections if the college have got the approval from the executive committee claim education official from deputy director office.

The Directorate of School Education that conducts the online admission procedure for FYJC has issued the dates of registration for junior colleges. The school principals of the state board, ICSE, CBSE, IGCSE and IB along with their computer experts have been called for a meeting on 24 April at Activity High School at Peddar Road to discuss various issues in FYJC online admission process. The purpose of this meeting is to clear the doubts of the schools if any in order to help their students fill the forms correctly. This year new feature will be Science Bifocal courses admissions which will be conducted separately in zero round.

According to one of the officials from the deputy director's office, the junior colleges who have not increased their fees since long may increase it this year if it has got approval from the executive committee.

The junior colleges have been asked to submit the documents of increased divisions if any in their college, proof of online registration of last year, documents of approval for Bifocal course etc.

An official from deputy director office, said, "Since two years ago there was a circular on the procedure to increase the fees in junior college unaided section. Many junior colleges unaided section fees structure are very old and hence it is expected that colleges may increase it this year if they have got approval from the executive committee that consists of parents, teachers management officials. We will come to know during the registration process."
