Curtains came down on Mount Litera School International's (MLSI) week-long art festival 'Meraki' on Friday. The festival cascaded into a vivid and colourful finale in the presence of internationally acclaimed artist Bose Krishnamachari who regaled students of MLSI with his inputs on the importance of art in personality development and perusing art as a career.

While interacting with the students, the artist-curator also stressed on the importance of inculcating art in everyday life.

Students had also put up a spectacular exhibition of artworks inspired by Krishnamachari's works which was inaugurated by the artist himself. The exhibition was designed and curated by the students of MLSI.

They artistically used cube benches to create unique works of art in vivid shades and textures. Besides, colourful artworks like Mandala inspired designs, spray painted shoes as well as mosaic art were up on display at the exhibition.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mona Seervai, Head of School, Mount Litera School International said, "Oscar Wilde has said, Art is the only serious thing in the world. And the artist is the only person who is never serious. In preparation for the art exhibition Meraki, every corridor of the school echoed this quote. It is an opportunity for our school children to understand that art is an expression of an individual, and each student is an artist."

Speaking about the exhibition, a visibly-impressed Krishnamachari said, "I was mighty impressed by the students' efforts in setting up such a colourful and creative exhibition. It was wonderful to see their interpretation of my art in various installations and paintings. Their enthusiasm to deep dive in the colourful universe of art makes me happy to know that art is surely receiving the importance it should in an academic setting."

The event concluded with an exhibition that displayed various artworks created by students of Mount Litera.
