Mumbai Metro that claims to be '#AboveItAll' has once again failed Mumbaikars, with services getting disrupted during rush hours on Tuesday.

Services between Ghatkopar and Andheri faced problems with operations, and both stations bearing the brunt of extraordinary crowd of people. Passengers said Metro services were operating 15 minutes behind their scheduled time.

Escalators at the stations were shut due to the overflowing rush of people, to prevent any accident.

Commuters also alleged that they were not even provided with updates or information about the reasons behind the delay or when the services would resume.

It is said that the problem occurred after 9am. Thereafter, services were unable to return to normalcy till 10-11am.

"Commuters at Ghatkopar Metro station were being asked by the staff to opt for other modes of transport..." a passenger told dna.

On a microblogging site, commuters posted messages of Mumbai Metro being worse than suburban locals. A commuter, Devaki Khare, tweeted, "#MumbaiMetro having its own morning blues.turned the stations and train into a battlefield.."

Explaining the problem, a Mumbai Metro spokesperson said, "At 9.13am, the doors of one Metro train were opening slowly, which led to bunching of a few trains. During this time, the trains were running late by three to five minutes. The issue was resolved by 9.25am."

The problematic rake was withdrawn from service. Technical snag on the door occurred at Chakala Metro station and continued at every station thereafter, towards Versova. Once the train reached Versova, it was withdrawn from service for rectification.
