The Agripada police have arrested a man for allegedly duping two youths for Rs 2 lakh under the pretext of sending them to Dubai for a job. The accused is wanted to at least five other police stations in the city for duping other job aspirants in a similar manner.

The accused has been identified as Ajay Suresh Kumar (22). The police are also on the lookout for his accomplice, Iftikhar, who is said to be in Delhi.

According to the police, the accused would promise to send job aspirants to the Gulf and would take money from them, however, would become untraceable after that. Abdul Kadir and Shams Kamar had recently approached Iftikhar for jobs and visa. Iftikhar called them to his 'office' in New Delhi and took a total of Rs 2 lakh from them for arranging the visa and promising to send them to Dubai for a job.

However, after taking the money, Iftikhar began ignoring their phone calls and delayed the date of their departure. The victims then went to his office but on inquiring found that none of them works there. When they finally managed to get in touch with him, Iftikhar asked them to meet his agent, Ajay, who had arranged their visas.

"On meeting Ajay, the victims were asked to pay another Rs 1 lakh each. He then gave them a photoopy of the visa, however, the complainants felt suspicious and approached the police. We nabbed the accused from Thane. Both the accused are wanted in similar cases in other police stations as well," said a police officer from Agripada police station.
