The Mulund police have arrested a 45-year-old man for disrobing his 14-year-old daughter, beating her with a wooden stick and then biting her for not coming to his aid while he fought with his neighbour. The incident occurred around 3pm on August 29 when Bhujbal’s wife and two sons were away.
According to the police, an inebriated Bhujbal picked up a quarrel with his neighbour in a slum colony at Mulund. After the tiff, he came home and bolted the door from inside.
Waking up his daughter, he shouted at her for not joining him in his quarrel. When she did not reply, he disrobed her and beat her up. He also bit her twice. The victim screamed for help but no one came to her rescue.
The scared class IX student did not reveal anything to her mother. But the incident came to light on Saturday when her mother noticed the the injury marks on her body. They then approached the police. The police have registered a case under Sections 354 and 324 of the IPC against Bhujbal on Monday,” said Vasant Tajane, assistant commissioner of police (Mulund division).
