Days after releasing a video mocking Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) over potholes during monsoon, RJ Malishka Mendonsa has been issued a notice by the civic body for mosquito-breeding at her Bandra home in Mumbai.

A notice has been issued under section 381-B of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) Act, reported Hindustan Times.

Mosquitoes were found breeding in a routine survey at the RJ’s 6th floor flat at sun-rise apartments in Pali Naka, officials told the daily.

The Aedes mosquitoe was reportedly found in a clay bowl kept under a pot as well as indoor breeding in plant pots, reads the notice.

“We carried out a routine inspection in Bandra on Tuesday, after which the notice was issued,” said ward officer Sharad Ughade.

Meanwhile, two Yuva Sena members have urged the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner to file a Rs. 500 crore-defamation suit against RJ Mallishka and 93.5 Red FM, after a video by the radio station poking fun at the organisation went viral.

The song is sung by Malishka and is titled 'Mumbai Tula BMC var Bharosa nai ka', which means, 'Mumbai, don't you have faith on BMC?'

However, Malishka took to Twitter to thank people for showing support.

Replying to a tweet, the RJ also said that she would respond after getting back to the country from IIFA.
