After a sudden rise in temperatures, Mumbaikars can heave a sigh of relief as weathermen have predicted yet another cold spell this week.

The maximum temperatures recorded last week was around 34 to 35°C. On Sunday the maximum temperature recorded was 34.6°C while the minimum was 17.9°C. However, on Monday the maximum temperature dropped to 30.2°C while the minimum was 18.2°C.

IMD officials as well as private weather forecasting groups are expecting both the maximum as well as minimum temperatures to dip, which will result in cooler weather.

Rajesh Kapadia a private weather forecaster who also runs the popular weather blog Vagaries of Weather said that the temperature is likely to start dropping from Monday.

"Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be cooler in the day with maximum around 28 to 29°C while the nights will be around 13 to 14°C," he said adding that the reason is the western disturbance, which will bring a fresh cold wave in the northern part of the country.

Kapadia shared that apart from Mumbai, its neighbour Pune too is likely to chill as on Tuesday and Wednesday the day temperatures could drop below 29°C again, and nights around 9 or 10°C.
