Mumbai: Father, grandpa molest toddler

A woman has filed a complaint against her husband and father-in-law for allegedly molesting her nearly four-year-old daughter. When the woman confronted the father-son duo, they beat her up, threatened her and threw her out of the house, say police. The 30-year-old went to her maternal home in Vakola, and told her family, who urged her to tell the police.

According to police, the 32-year-old father from Dharavi and his father have been molesting the girl since 2013, when she was 10 months old. "She could not report the matter as she feared for her life," said a police officer from Dharavi police station.

Senior police inspector Suryakant Bangar from Dharavi police station said, "We have registered a case under sections 354 (molestation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (intentional insult) of the Indian Penal Code and under relevant sections of the Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences Act. We are yet to make arrests and are investigating further."
