The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has started helicopter rides over Mumbai at a cost of Rs 5,580 per head to allow people to enjoy what the railway PSU calls an 'an unforgettable way to experience the breathtaking beauty of Mumbai and its surrounding areas'.
According to an IRCTC statement, the helicopter package called the “Mumbai Darshan by Air” begins from Juhu Aerodrome and will have two routes. The South Mumbai Route will be on Tuesday & Friday and will cover Juhu, Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Haji Ali and back. The North Mumbai Route will run from Monday to Saturday and will include Juhu, Varsova, Malad, Gorai, Pagoda, Essel world and back.
"The flight begins with a per-flight briefing before you take to the skies to spot some famous icons of Mumbai. Enjoy the panoramic views of Mumbai and it’s coastline from your armchair in the sky," said an IRCTC statement.
