Kurla police on Sunday night intercepted a vehicle carrying large number of LED television sets and air conditioners. The driver had allegedly stolen the said cache of electronic goods belonging to a logistics company. He was detained by the police.

According to police, during night patrolling, a detection team led by Assistant Police Inspector Daya Jadhav of Kurla Police Station had intercepted a container at Maharashtra weigh bridge.

"The seal of the container was broken and persons present in the vehicle tried to flee after they saw police approaching them. The team managed to nab one of the accused. During interrogation, the person admitted to having stolen the container in connivance with the driver of the said vehicle, who is wanted in the case," said a police officer.

He added, on inspecting the said vehicle, the police found 817 LED TVs and 80 ACs. "We then managed to trace the company that owned the electronic goods inside the vehicle. The goods have been seized and the accused have been detained for further questioning. On the complaint of Mrugesh Shah, manager of the logistics company, we have registered a case of criminal breach of trust and cheating in the matter," said the officer.
