Mumbai: Cambridge International Examination declares IGCSE result of class 10, class 12

There are now over 340 Cambridge schools in India, where over 70,000 exam entries for Cambridge qualifications were made in June in both (10th and 12th), with a 12% increase in entries compared with 2014.

Number of students enrolling into the Cambridge qualifications has increased sharply. It was evident as huge number of students on Tuesday collected their Cambridge International Examinations results.

There has been a substanstial increase in the popularity of Cambridge qualifications in India and around the world. Globally there has been 15% growth across all Cambridge qualifications this year, including 8% growth in entries for Cambridge International A Levels (12th board exam) and 23% for Cambridge IGCSE (10th board exam). There are now over 340 Cambridge schools in India, where over 70,000 exam entries for Cambridge qualifications were made in June in both (10th and 12th), with a 12% increase in entries compared with 2014. In India there was a 10% increase in entries for Cambridge IGCSE (10 board exam), with more than 40,000 entries.

IGCSE students of Dhirubhai Ambani International School have come out with flying colours for the tenth year in a row. All 69 students who had appeared for the IGCSE examinations (10th) in 2015 have done exceptionally well. Almost 88.84% of all grades achieved are A*'s and A’s.

Ruchira Ghosh, Regional Director for South Asia, Cambridge International Examination, said, “I would like to congratulate all students for their hard work for this year exams. This year marked an important year for Cambridge schools in India with the first March examination series. I am delighted that this went well and that our community of Cambridge schools in India continues to grow.”

Echoing the sentiments of Ghosh, Savita Venkat, Principal, Bombay Cambridge School, said, “The Cambridge curriculum helps students to learn and acquire the core skills and competencies of life like critical thinking and problem solving, collaboration, creativity, communication and digital literacy. They become lifelong learners and apply everything they learn during their developmental stages, in real life.”

The highest scorer of IGCSE 10th exam from Jamnabai Narsee International School is 97.4% achieved by Saumya Neilay Dedhia, while Pooja Ketan Barai came second with 97.2%. The third place went to Samar Manish Khanna who scored 97%.

The two sessions exams worked best for the students to achieve good results.”
