A day after the assault on two civic engineer, around 100 BMC engineers protested outside the H (West) ward office in Bandra on Thursday. Two junior engineers were allegedly roughed up by four persons for demolishing an illegal temporary shed.

According to the civic officials, the Gomes family had constructed a temporary shed by raising the foundation on the ground floor, which was disturbing the route of the gulli on Chapel Road.

A delegation of Brihanmumbai Municipal Engineers’ Union met the civic chief on Thursday. “The state government and civic administration should make law non-bailable for attacks on civic engineer,” said Yashwant Dhuri, additional general secretary.

The police have booked four persons for assaulting public servants and arrested three.
