A distress call was received from the vessel after which ICG Ship Amartya, a fast patrol vessel on surveillance duty, was diverted immediately for the search and rescue operation, said the ICG officials.
"ICG ship responded to the distress call and reached the spot, which was 12.5 nautical miles away from Worli coast, at around 10:54 am and rescued six crew from the sinking vessel. The rescued crew members were expected to arrive in the city late on Monday evening.
