The Narpoli Police have arrested four men from their residence in Sindhi Pada, Bhandup for allegedly stealing more than Rs15 lakh from a Union Bank of India’s ATM at Gurunath Apartments in Kalher area of Bhiwandi on Tuesday.

The accused Vinayak Vishwasrao ( 22), Pandurang Bangar (23), Ashish Mane (19) and Deepak shelar (35) robbed the ATM on December 15 around 1am. According to the police, it was a well planned crime. All four had come to the ATM a month back and did a thorough check. They had even  changed the camera angle, to avoid being caught.

On Saturday, the robbers broke the ATM machine to steal the money.  During the robbery, the camera failed to capture their faces because they had changed the camera angle. The police then went over the CCTV footage of the last couple of months and there the accused were identified.

Prakash Patil, senior PI said, “As soon as we heard about the robbery, the first thing we did was to check the CCTV footage. While changing the camera angle, his face was caught and through our investigation we came to know that there were three other involved.”
