The 22-year-old plumber who had allegedly fled with his 14-year-old stepdaughter has been arrested by the Cuffe Parade police for rape and kidnapping.

The 22-year-old plumber who had allegedly fled with his 14-year-old stepdaughter has been arrested by the Cuffe Parade police for rape and kidnapping.
The accused, Ravindra Navle, had abducted the victim from their Geeta Nagar slum residence on December 31. He was traced to his friend’s house in Wardha, from where he was arrested.
Navle got married to the victim’s 35-year-old mother a few months ago in Nashik. However, soon after marrying her, he started wooing her daughter. According to the police, Navle lured the minor with the promise of marrying her.
Navle’s first wife and children reside in Mumbai.
Navle has been booked under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 376 (rape) of the IPC. He was produced before a local court that remanded him to police custody till January 19.
