After declaration of the first merit list, nearly 1.21 lakh students have secured seats in the First Year Junior College (FYJC). The second merit list for admission in city colleges will be out by 5 PM on Monday. While the second list remains unpredictable, many claim the cut-off for admission in the science stream might come down.

According to principals in the city, this year, commerce and arts streams are more in demand among students, and so cut-off for the science stream might come down. Kavita Rege, principal of Sathaye College in Vile Parle, said, "The second merit list will definitely go down but we cannot predict by how much percentage."

Sangeeta Srivastav, principal of Kandivli-based TP Bhatia College, said, "Commerce and arts stream cut-off might come down just a little bit, as they are in demand this year. But the cut-off for the science stream may come down by as much as 2-3% in our college."

After the declaration of the second merit list, many students go for a choice that they did not get in the first list. Also, students can pay their admission fees on July 5, 7 and 8, between 10 AM and 3 PM.
