Mulund's Vaze college gets 'Star College' status

Kelkar Education Trust's Vinayak Ganesh Vaze College of Arts, Science and Commerce at Mulund has been awarded 'Star College' status by the department of biotechnology, Government of India.

Under the STAR scheme, five Science departments from Vaze college viz Biotechnology, Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry have been awarded 'Star' status and will be granted special financial assistance. Kelkar-Vaze college is known as quality teaching – learning educational institution not only in Mumbai, but across the country.

Vaze College has been rated as 'Top 20' educational institutions in India. The college is the first in Maharashtra to be ranked consistently three times at 'Top a Grade' by academic rating agency 'NAAC'. It is also the recipient of the prestigious 'FIST' grant from department of Science and Technology for developing research infrastructure in the college and the first college from Mumbai University to get the coveted "College with Potential for Excellence' award by the University Grants Commission.

The college is also the recipient of the first 'Best College' Award by MU. The Kelkar Education Trust has established "Scientific Research Centre' and 'Advanced Research Lab in Chemistry' as forward linkage by establishing Industry-Academic Interface.
