The truck driver whose truck fell on a rickshaw in Kalyan, thereby killing one passenger and injuring three, have told cops that it was due to a pothole on the road. The Kongaon police have issued notice to MSRDC contractor on why a case should not be filed against them for negligence.
On July 10 around 8am, an overloaded truck carrying cattle feed waded through a pothole on Kalyan's Kongaon road. The truck which went through the 1.5 feet pothole lost balance and the sacks of cattle feed fell on a rickshaw behind it. This injured three passengers and the driver and one of the passengers, Hasim Sheikh, who were injured, died.
The Kongaon police has issued summons to MSRDC under section 91 of the CrPC asking for documents of the road.
