Malvika Agarwal and Kanupriya Mundhra are not your average 21-year-old students. The duo joined forces and are working towards women empowerment in their own little way through their event, She's Not Just A Pretty Face.

This women-oriented start-up is an initiative by the two, to give back to society by empowering and encouraging women to pursue their dreams. They provide a relevant platform for women to showcase their talent as they spread awareness about how women are essential to the economy. "There are plenty of NGOs that teach women the skills required to become entrepreneurs. But we decided to offer women entrepreneurs a platform which would let them network with like-minded people and also expand their customer base," says Mundhra.

The girls who started the event last year when they were in college, are back with its second edition. "Last year, five of us from HR College organised She's Not Just A Pretty Face. But, this year it is just Malvika and I," gushes Mundhra. They've rented a place, shortlisted the entrepreneurs to be featured at the event, and have now set out to spread the word. She adds, "This year, we wanted a unique mix of people. So, we have chosen entrepreneurs who offer a diverse range of products. The cost incurred for the rent and publicity is going to be divided among all those who put up stalls." The women entrepreneurs will offer exciting products, including stylish clothing and shoes, funky accessories and scrumptious food.

The proceeds of the event will go towards educating young girls. The duo has also associated with iSanctuary, an NGO that advocates for exploited people of the world, educates the public about human trafficking and its prevention, and is instrumental in reintegrating survivors into the community. Many such survivors of human trafficking will use their skills to create jewellery, which will be available for sale at the event.

Venue: 2nd Floor, 201, Hubtown Skybay, Bhulabhai Desai Road, Breach Candy, Cumballa Hill. Date: July 19, 2014. Time: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
