Thursday, 25 October 2012 - 10:00am IST | Place: Mumbai | Agency: DNA
Now, the police say no unknown fingerprints were lifted from the flat and the maid’s account cannot be corroborated.

The police are refusing to jump the gun in calling the 23-year-old model-cum-actor Bidushi Dash Barde’s death at her Andheri (W) flat on Monday night a murder.

Although a case of murder was registered based on a maid’s claim that she had seen the silhouette of a person through the translucent glass of the inner main door in Barde’s flat, the police say no unknown fingerprints were lifted from the flat and the maid’s account cannot be corroborated. The police also found no signs of a forced entry.

It is suspected that Barde, a diabetic whose health had deteriorated in recent times, had fainted and fallen on a glass showcase in the house that shattered, injured her and subsequently led to her bleeding to death.

“The building watchman also did not see anyone entering or leaving the house,” said an officer from the DN Nagar police station. There is no CCTV at the housing complex.
