Model rape case: Accused cops to undergo narco-analysis

In a major development, the Mumbai crime branch is planning to conduct narco-analysis tests on its men allegedly involved in the rape and extortion case of a 29-year old small time model.

A police officer requesting anonymity, said: "We will get scientific tests done on three policemen and a few others involved. Since the crime seemed to be professionally committed, we are apprehensive that the group could be involved in similar activities in the past."

The officer added that in order to get more leads on the same, they have decided to conduct the narco-analysis done.

On April 3, under the pretext of carrying out a raid, three policemen from Sakinaka police station picked up a model along with a male friend. In her complaint to the Mumbai police commissioner, the model had alleged that the arrested accused had extorted Rs9 lakh from them, and one of the inspectors also raped her in a beat chowkie.

The model later approached Mumbai police chief Rakesh Maria and informed him about the incident, after which a case was registered and the accused trio was arrested. The crime branch will produce the constables in court on Tuesday, to seek further police remand.

The police are still unable to track Aman, who is believed to be the model-coordinator who had sent the complainant to the hotel, on the pretext of fixing a meeting with a Gujarat based producer Sikandar for work.

The model told the police that one of the accused who had met her in the coffee shop of the hotel later asked her to accompany him to a room, where Sikandar was waiting. There, she grew suspicious and refused to comply to the request made by the accused.

The model had also alleged that one of the police officers forced her to perform oral sex on him in the beat chowkie.
