The general consultant of Dahisar East-Andheri East Metro-7 corridor after a bunch of iron rods tilted towards the ground near Aarey Colony at Western Express Highway

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) on Monday said that it has issued notice to the general consultant of Dahisar East-Andheri East Metro-7 corridor after a bunch of iron rods tilted towards the ground near Aarey Colony at Western Express Highway (WEH) on Saturday afternoon.
A notice issued by MMRDA dated October 23, 2017, to M/s. AICA Consortium, general consultant for Metro-7, reads, “Accident was occurred at Pier no 5 near Aarey station on Saturday. It was found that the pier reinforcement was bent towards the Service road resulting the closing of service road.”
The notice further adds, “You are requested to examine the causes of the accident and submit your report and re-commendation to avoid such incidents in future within 7 days from issue of this letter.”
Praveen Darade, Additional Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, said, “We will issue show cause notice to contractor J Kumar Infrastructure also by today (Monday).”
An email query sent to J Kumar Infrastructure on Monday did not get any response. J Kumar Infrastructure had said on Saturday: “we shall take best possible efforts to avoid such instances in future”.
