The use or misuse of public toilets reserved for handicapped is a punishable offence.  This lesson was what Sulabh Shauchalaya contractors at Thane railway station learnt last week after a handicapped passenger Ajit Singh Rawat lodged a police case.

Rawat then approached the GRP, who guided him to go to Kopri police station.

The police have lodged a case against Suresh Verma, 36, J M Mandal, 31, Mohidoor Qudoos, 26 and the contractor whose name is not clear under relevant sections of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
