The incident of a woman constable and her husband going missing had been giving sleepless nights to the Dahisar police and the Government Railway Police (GRP). In fact, some senior GRP officers had received a message, according to which the couple had been kidnapped. Finally, after carrying out investigation into the case, the Dahisar police traced the woman and her husband in Pune and have brought them to Mumbai safely.

On Thursday evening, senior GRP officers received an SMS stating constable Sunita Kiran Kodalkar, posted at Borivli GRP, and her husband Kiran Kodalkar have been kidnapped. The message also challenged the police to track them, if they could. The GRP immediately registered a case of kidnapping and both investigating agencies started their probe.

"Considering the seriousness of the situation, we immediately registered a case with the Dahisar police station and started our investigation," said Deepak Deoraj, deputy commissioner of police, GRP (Western).

The couple was tracked in Pune on Friday evening, said assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Uttam Khairmode. He added, "There were no injury marks on both of them and they were safely brought to Mumbai. We are carrying out further investigation."

Interestingly, a few days ago, Sunita had accused a male colleague of eve teasing. "We are carrying out an inquiry into that matter. The constable facing the inquiry has been currently posted in GRP headquarters," said DCP Deoraj.
