Abhijeet Bhujbal, Sub Inspector from Unit I of Thane crime branch had allegedly bribed the man from Ahmedabad to clear his name from the case. The Thane police later initiated an enquiry into the incident and until then as a punishment he has been transferred to the police control room which is a side posting normally given as a punishment.

The Gujarat based man identified as Hardik had filed a writ petition in the High Court complaining about the harassment from the officer. “The enquiry has been undertaken and I have been transferred to the control room until the final procedure”, said Bhujbal.

Denying the allegations made by the Gujarat man, Bhujbal added, “I have not made any calls to demand money and all the relevant evidences to come clean in the enquiry. I have been framed wrongly and the senior officials will conduct the enquiry. We have not seen the petition papers as we have been informed that he has taken back the complaint.
