Two eight-year-old girls were molested by their teacher on the pretext of teaching them Arabic. The accused, Samiullah Kamruddin Shah, 24, who teaches at a Madarsa at Rabodi in Thane, is behind bars. In a similar incident, a 50-year-old man from Kalwa was arrested for molesting a six-year-old girl.
On February 26, around 7.45am, the victims reached the Madarsa, but soon after their parents left, Shah went to the girls told them their pronunciations were incorrect and that he would teach them the correct way. He asked the girls to sit next to him and soon began touching them inappropriately. Sensing something wrong, one of the girls began distancing herself but was dragged towards her tormentor. Shah then warned the minors to not confide in anyone. Saying so, he continued the shameful act, even as the petrified minors tried resisting his attempts. When it was time for them to leave, the accused once again warned them and threatened them with dire consequences.
The girls kept to themselves once out of the Madarsa, but in the evening, one of the them began crying and confided in her parents. The parents then rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint against Shah, who was nabbed immediately. A police official from Rabodi police station says, "We have arrested the culprit and will be producing him in court. We are investigating the case further."
Shah has been booked under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
In a separate case, 50-year-old Laxman Kondaji Chavan was arrested after he molested a six-year-old girl, his neighbour at Golai nagar in Kalwa. On February 26, the accused was alone at his place as his wife, who is employed with a private firm, had left for office and his children for school. Sensing opportunity, Chavan called the victim, who has playing in their lobby, to his flat. Unsuspecting, the minor agreed. Once in, Chavan began touching the girl inappropriately. The girl, however, managed to escape and call for help. The victim's mother rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint. The accused was arrested under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
