Continuing its 'Save Faith, Save Constitution' movement, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIPMB) came together, along with members of other communities.

On Monday, the AIPMB, along with representatives from other minority communities, addressed the issues plaguing the minorities. Maulana Sajjad Naomani, Waman Meshram, leader of Backward and Minorities Communities Employees Federation, and Swami Korneshwar Appa of Lingayat Samaj, addressed issues like secular Constitution, Rohith Vermula's suicide and ISIS.

Naomani said ISIS is not Islam. "We condemn any and all kinds of unjustifiable killings, and acts of terrorism, be it by ISIS, or some internal anti-national organisations," he said. He spoke on the need to deradicalise these youths who have fallen for ISIS. He also said that those in power should not punish innocent Muslim youth on the basis of suspicion, as it affects their present and future.

Mesharam said the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes are original inhabitants of India, but today they are not treated equally. They said every citizen has equal rights – no one is bigger or better, lesser or superior to the other.

"The minorities of this secular democratic country want to say that any kind of mischief with the Constitution to tarnish the democratic fabric of the country will not be tolerated," they said unanimously.
