Minor held for slashing friend with knife in Trombay

A minor has been arrested by the Trombay police for allegedly attacking his friend with a knife and trying to rob him.

According to the police, at around 7 am on Saturday, the 17-year-old boy tried to forcibly take out money and a mobile phone from his 23-year-old friend Wasim Ahmed Shaikh's pocket.

"When Shaikh resisted, the minor pulled out a knife from his possession and slashed Shaikh's chest. The minor fled from the spot after the public gathered there. A police patrolling team found him hiding in Custom Maidan behind Ideal School almost 12 hours after the incident," said an officer from Trombay police station.

The minor, who was booked on charges of assault and attempt to commit robbery, was later sent to the Dongri remand home. Shaikh is currently admitted in the ICU, police said.
