A minor fire broke out on board the INS Pralaya at the Naval Dockyard on Tuesday morning. No casualties were reported.
"The fire was reported in the gyro compartment and was subsequently brought under control with the assistance of the Dockyard fire brigade," said Commander Rahul Sinha, Indian Navy spokesperson.
This incident is the first one reported in 2017. The previous mishap inside Naval Dockyard involved INS Betwa on December 6, wherein the warship tipped while being undocked.
Though the vessel's compartments were de-watered, it has yet to be set upright and refloated.
