Minor fire at Mumbai's Taj Hotel

No casualties have been reported.

Emergency services were pressed into action after a fire sparked due an electrical short-circuit inside the basement of the landmark Taj Hotel in Colaba area of South Mumbai.

There were no reports of any casualties.

According to the Disaster Management Cell of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) - the blaze erupted around 4:30pm on Tuesday.

"The fire is been suspected of having been triggered by a short-circuit in the basement of the hotel. The blaze was contained and doused very soon," a Fire Brigade official said.

Two fire tenders with a team of over a dozen fire-fighters were moved into action along with the local police for rescue service.

The fire department said that, the incident is been investigated upon.
