Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan in trouble for attending wedding of Dawood's 'relative'

BJP minister Girish Mahajan is in trouble for attending fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim relative's wedding at Nasik recently. Eight police officers who attended the same wedding were also questioned by the Nasik police.

Talking to DNA, Ravindra Singhal, Police Commissioner of Nasik, said, "If there are objectionable and serious issues, we will submit the report to our higher authority for action. However, preliminary inquiry revealed that the officers said they were not aware of Dawood's connection. Besides, Dawood himself was not there in wedding."

Sources said that the police have seized all photographs and videos of wedding for further investigation.

Jaggi Konkani's eldest daughter got married to the son of Guru Khhatib's. Jaggi's elder daughter is married to Kaskar's son, who is the brother of Dawood Ibrahim. Khhatib is an influential religious Guru in Nasik.

However, police said that they have no authority to questions the minister and elected representatives who attended the wedding. "We have not been ordered to call the elected representative in for questioning. It was a social function. We cannot bar anyone from attending weddings and social functions," senior police official said requested anonymity.
