MHADA lottery to offer over 10,000 affordable homes in Maharashtra

The PMAY homes are located in Shirdone (Kalyan) where there are 1905 homes and in Khoni (Kalyan) where 2032 homes have been kept, Economically Weaker Sections.

A total of 10,532 homes in the state will be sold by Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) via lottery on August 19. Of which Konkan Housing and Area Development Board, a wing of MHADA is coming up with a housing lottery of 9018 houses in its jurisdiction. While 1514 homes is being sold in Nagpur division by the Nagpur board. The Konkan board lottery includes Thane, Virar, Kalyan, Ambernath, Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri areas. It is the biggest housing lottery by the housing authority of the state. The lottery will be held on August 19 for both the areas, while forms will be available and registration will begin from July 18. Of the total 9018 Konkan board homes, 3937 are under the ambitious Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY).

The PMAY homes are located in Shirdone (Kalyan) where there are 1905 homes and in Khoni (Kalyan) where 2032 homes have been kept, Economically Weaker Sections. Mumbai Metropolitan Region area residents without a home anywhere in India are only eligible to apply for these homes and the family income has been capped at Rs 3 lakh per annum.

For Economically Weaker Section (EWS), there are 4455 homes located in Mira Road, Blakum (Thane), Shirdone (Kalyan), Khoni (Kalyan). Antarli (Kalyan), Khoni Hedutane (Kalyan), Kole (Kalyan), and Umbarli (Ambernath). These include the 3937, PMAY homes.

For the Lower Income Group category, there are 4341 homes, and they are located in Mira Road, Kavesar (Thane), Vengural, (Sindhudurg), Virar Bolinj, Khoni (Kalyan). Antarli (Kalyan), Khoni Hedutane (Kalyan), Kole (Kalyan), and Umbarli (Ambernath).

For Middle Income Group (MIG), the number of homes is 215 and they are located in Balkum (Thane), Vengurla (Sindhudurg), Mira Road, Kunwar Bav (Ratnagiri) and Virar Bolinj areas.

There are only seven homes for the High Income Group (HIG) category and they are located in Mira Road, Vengurla (Sindhudurg) and Kunwar Bav (Ratnagiri). Vijay Lahane, chief officer, Konkan board confirmed the details.

Bharat Bastewad, secretary, MHADA said, "The homes in Nagpur division are located in New Chandrapur, Beltardoi, Hinganghat, Dabha, and Chikhali Devasthan. All the process is online and the lottery for Nagpur division shall be held on the same day as the Konkan board."

The online registration for the lottery will start on MHADA website from 2 pm of July 18, while it shall be open till midnight of August 8. Registered applicants can start filling their application from 2 pm of July 19 till midnight of August 9. The EMD amount can be paid till August 10 via different modes including internet banking.

The per month salary of a person including that of his wife to be eligible to apply in the EWS category shouldn't be above Rs 25,000. the same for LIG is Rs 25,001 to Rs 50,000, the criteria for MIG is Rs 50,0001 to Rs 75,000 and HIG is any person earning above Rs 75,001 per month.

Along with the application, the applicant also has to pay the earnest money deposit, which for EWS is Rs 5448, for LIG the EMD is 10,448, while the same for MIG and HIG is Rs 15,448 and Rs 20,448 respectively.

The cheapest house in Konkan board lottery is for Rs 6.18 lakh at Balkum in Thane it is in the EWS category, while the costliest house is for Rs 42.74 in Virar Bolinj it is in the MIG category. The homes in Mira Road for the EWS category are available for Rs 17 lakh, while the HIG homes here are for Rs 21.73 lakh. LIG category homes in Virar Bolinj are available for Rs 24.75 lakh.
