The locals of Churchgate continue to allege that despite the Bombay High Court rapping the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) over carrying out civil construction work for Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro-3 underground corridor during night hours, the MMRC is carrying out the construction work till late in the night.

Residents said that the noisy construction work disturbs their sleep cycle. Kaizaad Kotwal, a resident of Lotus Court on Jamshedji Tata Road in Churchgate, said, "It was only yesterday that MMRC was carrying out construction work till 1 am. I had to call the police and it was only after the police asked them to stop the work that it was stopped."

Kotwal added, "Every other day that MMRC continues to work beyond the 10 pm deadline. What is the use of stay order if MMRC wants to flout the same?"

The High Court, in August 2017, had directed MMRC not to carry out any construction or ancillary activities of the Metro-3 project at night.

Despite repeated attempts, MMRC refused to comment.
