Media, evaluation biggies to come together for the first Edutainment Awards

The second season of the biggest education festival and exhibition, The Edutainment Show, envisioned by Deepak Choudhary, director, Event Capital, and promoted by Laqshya Media group, will be launching 'The Edutainment Awards' on Saturday at JW Marriott in Juhu.

Powered by dna, the awards are based on the first-ever most comprehensive evaluation and rating of media, design and communication institutes in India.

Well-known colleges St Xavier's, IIMC, Jamia Millia Islamia, SNDT University, SIMC, Loyola, Jain University, FTII, Sophia, NID, Pearl Design, NIFT, WWI and North Point are participating.

The jury comprises eminent personalities and is headed by Dr Bhaskar Das, Group CEO, Zee Media Corporation Ltd. It includes Gokul Krishnamurthy, editor, Campaign India; Lajwanti D Souza, managing editor, Pagalguy; Sanjeet Saha, Star TV; Nikhil Garth D'rozario, film producer; Brian Tellis, director, Fountainhead Events; Rajesh Kejriwal, founder, Kyoorius Group; Anand Gurnani, Animation Express, and Pranjal Khindadiya, head, Sony Pictures. The award process has been coordinated by Prof Ujjwal K Chowdhury, eminent media educationist.

Schools imparting special courses in Media and Design will be rated on parameters based on a holistic perspective. A few domains, in which the top 10 rankings and top three awards will be given, are studies in films, television, radio, journalism, advertising, brand communication, fashion design and product design, among others. The awards will include the best institutes in regional, zonal and national capacities.
