The Marine Drive police on Friday arrested 39-year-old Anil Mishra for allegedly trespassing on the swearing-in ceremony of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and his cabinet members on October 31 at Wankhede stadium.

In police custody till November 11
According to Dhananjay Kulkarni, deputy commissioner of police, detection, Mishra has been booked under sections 170 (personating a public servant) and 447 (punishment for criminal trespass) of the Indian Penal Code. Mishra was produced before the Esplanade court on Friday which has remanded him in police custody till November 11.

He had no pass to attend ceremony
BJP activist Sanjay Bedia had approached Mumbai police alleging that a man known as Anil Mishra had gained unauthorised access to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on the day of the swearing-in ceremony. The Special Branch of Mumbai police has confirmed that no VIP pass was allotted to Mishra for the event.

Clicked photos with Modi, Fadnavis
“Mishra was found near the VVIPs such as Modi and Fadnavis, who enjoy Z-Plus security cover. He had got himself photographed with them and other dignitaries such as Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah and uploaded them on the social media,” claimed Bedia.

Entered stadium with Union law minister
A CCTV footage shows that around 5.38pm, Mishra was entering the stadium with Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and he headed towards the VVIP players' gate. Mishra claimed to be the private secretary of Prasad. He then went on to the dais, following Prasad, where entry was permitted to only those with special passes.
Police have seized Mishra's mobile phone and are investigating whether the photographs clicked of Mishra with the VVIPs were to be misused in any way.

Used govt logo on car illegally
Dedia alleged that Mishra appears to be engaged in some nefarious activities and he claimed to be an advisor to Food Corporation of India (FCI), a central government organisation. “A resident of Malad (E), Mishra was booked for using the Government of India logo on his car by the Charkop police in January,” Dedia said.
