Man's body found in manhole on Eastern Express Highway in Kurla

A 24-year-old man died after drowning in a manhole along the Eastern Express Highway near Kurla on Friday night. The manhole is around 10 feet deep. The man's body was found on Saturday morning.

The deceased, identified as Dinesh Prakash Jathodiya, fell in the manhole at around 10.15 pm on Friday. The manhole is located opposite to Pragati Society, near Kurla signal, Eastern Express Highway in Kurla (East).

According to Nehru Nagar Police Station, the man was walking along the highway and he could not notice a manhole which was covered by a plastic sheet. "Unaware of the manhole, he fell inside it while walking," said an official from the police station. The police has registered a case of accident death.
