A damaged cell phone and the fist fight that ensued reduced life's worth to a mere RS 2,000. Late in the night on Friday, Rohit Kumar Sahani, 30, was allegedly killed by Faizal Sheikh, 28, owner of a mobile repair shop, over a phone worth Rs 2,000, which was given for repair at his Malad shop. Kurar police revealed that the duo got into a fist fight and Sahani died of internal injuries.

According to police, Sahani, a resident of Malad and a digital board manufacturer went to demand his cellphone from Sheikh, which had been with him for a month. When Sheikh informed him that he will take longer to repair it, Sahani began demanding a new one, leading to the brawl and eventual fight.

"We have booked the accused under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating further," said LT Vhanamane, Senior Inspector, Kurar police station.
