A late night of revelry with his colleague ended on a fatal note for 35-year-old Ajgar Khan, who passed insensitive remarks about his friend's wife.

Ajgar Asik Khan used to work as a tap fitter and was meeting his friend, Sayyed Mair Nawab Ali for drinks in Daighar village, Kalyan fata, Thane on Monday night. Inebriated, Khan passed crude remarks about Ali's wife, saying that she was 'going out of line' and that Ali should 'make her understand'.

This did not sit well with Ali, also in his thirties, who lost his temper and began delivering a series of kicks and punches on Khan. After Khan fell to the ground injured, Ali hit him on his groin, and he died on the spot.

After the incident, which happened at around 1.30am, Khan's wife lodged a complaint against Ali at the Shil Daighar police station. An officer with the Shil Daighar police said that because Ali fled the spot after the incident, the cops have been unable to immediately arrest him.

A Police official from Shil daighar police station says that, "Both, the accused and the deceased are from Navi Mumbai and had come to Shil Daighar for some personal reason. We are investigating the case further," he added.
A case has been registered against Ali under IPC Section 302 (Punishment for Murder).
