Man held for filming colleague in women's toilet at Colaba office

A 26-year old Kurla resident working in a music company was arrested by Colaba police on Sunday for allegedly filming his female colleague in the office toilet.

A 26-year old Kurla resident working in a music company was arrested by Colaba police on Sunday for allegedly filming his female colleague in the office toilet.

The arrested person has been identified as Zafar Shaikh, a resident of Nehru Nagar in Kurla.

According to the police, the 23-year old complainant works in a music company at Colaba. On Saturday at 6.45 pm, she went to the office toilet to freshen up when she suddenly saw somebody's hand below the wooden partition that separated the two cubicles.

An officer from Colaba police station said that woman spotted a mobile phone that was possibly filming her, exited her cubicle and waited. He added: "Within minutes, she saw Shaikh, who works in the recruitment department, coming out of the toilet. She immediately called up her friend, who confronted Shaikh and checked his cell phone to find video clippings of the women's cubicle."

The woman, her friend and a senior official from the company brought Shaikh to the police station, where the cops seized his mobile phone. Shaikh was booked and arrested on charges of outraging the modesty of a woman. The police is also investigating whether Shaikh was involved in similar activities in the past.
