Man held for assaulting dog

The Chembur police on Friday arrested a 40-year-old security guard for allegedly sexually assaulting a dog in Chembur residential society.

The incident was caught on the CCTV installed at the building. The accused has been identified, Ramnaresh Mishra.

According to the police, the incident took place on Tuesday around 4 am. The accused also drove an auto, police said. "We have arrested the accused after some local residents and activists approached us with a CCTV footage. The guard was seen masturbating and taking a dog in the toilet," said S.G.Dal, senior police inspector of Chembur police station

The incident came to light on Wednesday when one of the residents of the complex checked the CCTV footage.

The resident immediately approached PETA activist and police who then carried out an investigation under Section of 377(for carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal), of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
