The Anti-Narcotics Cell's (ANC) Azad Maidan unit on Friday night arrested two people identified as Sunil Dhutia (41) and Vicky Nadar (26) with one kilogramme of Mephedrone (MD)- also known as M-CAT - White Magic and meow meow from Goregaon near Infinity Mall in Mumbai. The ANC has also seized a Mahindra XUV 500, (MH 01 BF 505) which had the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) logo on it, one of the accused claims to be a treasurer of the party. The total seizure was worth Rs 30 lakh.

After getting a tip-off about smuggling of the drugs, a trap was set up. An ANC officer on the basis of anonymity said, “At around 10:30 pm on Friday, our team nabbed Nadar and Dhutia, after searching the car, we found one kilogramme of Mephedrone. Further probe revealed that Dhutia runs an international courier company, they were going allegedly going to export the drug abroad. Nadar was to collect it to courier from Dhutia to export it via the cargo.”
Shivdeep Lande, Deputy Commissioner of Police, ANC, said, “The duo were produced in the Esplanade court, Azad Maidan on Saturday and were remanded till February 17.”
“We have already started investigating with the duo. We are probing into the modus operandi and which country were the drugs supposed to be supplied to. We suspect that it could be an international racket.” the officer added.
