Malad sisters blame 'narrow minded' parents

On Tuesday, the Malad sisters, Shivangi Sule (23) and Samira Sule (21), recorded their statement in front of the Mumbai crime branch officers in which they reiterated that they were not under the influence of Sunil Kukarni, the alleged Shifu Sunkriti cult leader. They added that they had left their residence because their 'narrow minded' parents tortured them.

On Tuesday, the Malad sisters, Shivangi Sule (23) and Samira Sule (21), recorded their statement in front of the Mumbai crime branch officers in which they reiterated that they were not under the influence of Sunil Kukarni, the alleged Shifu Sunkriti cult leader. They added that they had left their residence because their 'narrow minded' parents tortured them.

"Moreover, during the investigations, accused Sunil Kulkarni revealed that he had tried to help the sisters to live an independent life after he saw them suffering in the hands of their own parents," said the officer.

Vinay Rathod, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection), said, "We will place the statements of the girls and the two boys in front of the Bombay High Court in the next hearing and will file a summary of the case for further orders from the court."
